Radio Addenbrooke's is always pleased to hear from new volunteers who would like to help us expand and improve our service. We are particularly interested in people who communicate well with people of all ages and feel that they would enjoy speaking with patients. Any journalistic, presentation or technical skills would also be useful but experience in these areas is not required.
Volunteers for Radio Addenbrooke´s start by collecting radio requests from patients on the wards and can, after suitable training, help with the running of the radio shows.
PLEASE NOTE: The minimum age for applicants is 17.
We are unable to accept requests for daytime Work Experience from school children.
As part of the application process, you will be invited to one of our open evening's for new volunteers. These happen 4 times a year. Open evenings give us the opportunity to describe the work of Radio Addenbrooke's in more detail and to get a better understanding of your particular interests. To avoid disappointment (if invited to an open evening) we ask for at least one year of commitment from all new volunteers.
